The Townsend Act and Quelling an Uprising

To pay for the cost of the French and Indian War, and keep up the protection provided by the Redcoats, the following items will be taxed one pound each:
* Use of the pencil sharpener (no you may not use your pencil sharpener)

* Any classroom supply (paper, scissors, pen, tape, staples, paint, glue, etc.)

* Use of the drinking fountain or sink

* Use of the restroom

As your king, I think this is a fair and just tax.

Now, on to more serious matters. For those of you living in Boston, the treasonous act that was carried out in Boston Harbor will not be tolerated. The criminals who are responsible will be caught and brought to justice. I have dispatched a regiment of Redcoats to Boston to restore order among its citizens. Anyone who opposes a British soldier will be hung from the gallows!

    I love it that he is helping us but it also make me mad because i do not want to pay the taxes.But as long as he is helping us I'm happy.

    I know that we need the protection by paying the king, but this is getting out of hand to much paying going on but its not all for the king and his please. Its for are protection

    This makes me angry because when the teacher tells us to go get a computer we have to pay even though there is NO way out of getting out of getting a computer! Wow I cant believe we have to pay for something we HAVE TO get!

    We should be able to use the bathroom without paying. Why is the King doing this? If the King does this forever we will never be able to eat or buy supplies that we need. And we also should be able to drink from the drinking fountain with out paying as well.

    My fellow colonists, answer me this: has the world truly come slowly down to this? Unfairly taxing the human milestones in new land? If this truly new land, there certainly is nothing new about it! How separate is this from the strict, intolerable United Kingdom? How much has the almighty King hidden from us in the case of the life that is truly wonderful? I could say almost all. Shame is in a dark cloud around his palace, and the only thing to protect him is his measly guards!

    I think it is fair that you don't have to pay for the supplies if you already have the stuff. but if you have to borrow it and you have to pay. I think it is fair because all he's doing is giving us taxes to have the protection for us.

    OK YAH YAH WE ARE SAFE BUT ARE MONEY AINT AND ACTUALLY WE REALLY ARNT BECAUSE WE CANT EAT IF WE DONT HAVE POUNDS and if we cant eat well die for the kings foolish reasons.
